FTM Fashion Week NC Season 9 is happy to announce the return of this bodacious and fashionably energetic Guest Celebrity as the host of FTM Fashion Week NC S9 & Farbe Magazine 5TH Annual Awards Gala for Friday, October 22nd at our very own premier art gallery, Jacksonville•Onslow Council for the Arts, located in beautiful downtown Jacksonville, NC. The theme this year is: F.A.B. Extravaganza! Fashion, Art, & Business. Welcome Back Host Tameka S. Bright!

Tameka is no stranger hosting for FTM Fashion Week NC & Farbe Magazine’s Annual Shows! She is a woman who wears many colorful hats and is known for her multiple outfit changes from one event in a night to another as she demonstrated for us this past April at ourFTM Fashion Week NC S8 & Farbe Magazine 4th Annual Awards Show. She switched hats in between events from host, to vendor, to author for Season 8 debuting her highly anticipated relatable and empowering first book, Broken for the Purpose, released in March 2021. Her virtual book club starts next month on October 6th. As an author, she takes you through her life journey filled with multiple obstacles from birth to being placed in foster care at 6 months old, to being adopted out of the foster care system at 4 years old, to losing both adopted parents before the age of 21, to helping others deal with rejection, to acceptance, and her daily walk with God. Classy, Driven, and Chosen are three words that describes her. She has a true entrepreneur spirit! Besides being an established author, she has a background in radio, broadcasting, and journalism. She has been the morning radio show host of The Daily Grind on Christian 105.7 WCLN, the weekend radio show host on the number 1 top 40 hot AC Cumulus station Q98.1, Pink Conversations Podcast, and now she is the midday radio host for Pink Conversations on WCCG 104.5 FM (The Hip Hop Station)in Fayetteville, N.C. You can tune in at 11:00 a.m. EST to listen to her latest news reports, motivational moments under her Royal Empowerment segment, and on-air guest interviews.

Tameka has hosted numerous fashion events, most notable besides FTM Fashion Week NC is the Fashion Con Runway Show. She gets her contagious positive bubbly energy from her 6 years as a cheerleading coach on the collegiate level which she helped win a total of 4 National Championships. It was while she worked at Ireland Drive Middle School that Tameka was able to start an all-girl mentoring program: Uplift. A program where Character, Class, and one’s Purpose is taught. She was interviewed in May on CBS17 news discussing her advocacy for at-risk youth and her book written to encourage others. Her passions with being behind the mic, working with at risk youth, women in her community, along with spending quality time with her husband and their son, one can truly say Tameka’s life has come full circle.
